This is the personal* blog behind the @HealthITJeff tweets. I’m the real Jeff Helman, and I am not afraid to rant from time to time about health IT issues.

Think of me as that person in the back of the room who frequently thinks what many are thinking, but (unlike me) are too polite to blurt out. My primary passion is health records interoperability (which should be baked into to every EHR system) and the basic human right for every patient to securely see and possess their own health data.

I do tell it like it is, but please also read carefully. To say that my sense of humor is “dry” is like observing that Las Vegas is hot in August.

Some of this material may also appear on the AEGIS.net, Inc. blog or Medium; my intent is not link-bait cross-posting, but to add more details (or a more intense rant) here that are not feasible or appropriate on a corporate blog or the more general-interest audience on Medium.

Please let me know when I strike a nerve. That is, after all, the point here. Thanks!

*Personal, as in my own personal opinions. I like them, of course, but they are my own. These views do not necessarily represent the views of my employers (past or present), colleagues, or clients–even if they should. 😉
